2200 Rundell

The hard core A. D. Stenger fans may recognize this address from last years listing. While I’m usually a huge advocate for saving architecturally significant homes, even I admit there wasn’t a lot special about the house they tore down to build this one. I am ecstatic though to see that some top notch new construction take its place. Hats off to the always consistent McCabe Development.

2011 Peach Tree

This charming little number was built in 2011, and it shows. I mean that in a good way too. Modernism was less mainstream back then and this one is true to the old stripped down version of modernism that ruled the 90’s and 00’s. Don’t worry, what it lacks in pinterest charm it makes up for in timelessness.

2300 Rundell : AD Stenger

This house started out as a 1950’s design build by famed Austin architect Arthur Dallas Stenger, then in 2009 it got a full remodel with help from MJ Neal. I absolutely love all the indoor / outdoor space and that simple slab front maple cabinetry is almost too perfect. I’m a bit on the fence about the transformer room (1st pic) though, how 'bout you?

Here’s a really nice remodel / addition by Dig:A. You can just get a peek of the old house from the outside (hint, it’s the lovely block exterior) . Inside is just pure minimalist bliss. Loads of built in cabinetry and custom details. This one is so unique and absolutely lovely. I love a breath of fresh air.
