A modern Realtor

Let's start this out talking about what I am. I'm just a regular guy with a love for modern and mid century modern homes. I wanted a job where I could be around them, become an expert on them and still earn a living. That's why I choose to become a Realtor. If I had it to do all over again, I may have gone into architecture, but that's a story for another day.

I love Austin. I'm not a native Austinite, but I do my best to contribute to this city, to make it a better place, and of course to search out and give credit to all of the amazing artists, designers and musicians that make this such a great city. You can check out my blog to see what I'm into.

Lastly, I'm a jack of all trades design nerd. I dabble in photography, web design, furniture design, interior design... You get the picture. Good design sincerely matters to me. I'm just good enough to recognize that there are lots of others out there with mad skills. While I may not make a living doing design work, I definitely have an eye for it. I know bad HDR photography when I see it, I know when a builder skipped corners during construction, and I know what good interior design looks like. Turns out, thanks to my design obsession I have the skills to help you sell your house, or find your dream home.

What I'm not

So, that's a short and sweet intro about what I am. Now here's what I'm not. I'm not a salesperson, meaning I'm not going to try and convince you that I'm the best person to represent you. I'm not going to send you spammy emails or call you up and ask you for people you know that might need a realtor. I don't have my photo on the side of my car or a park bench. Hell, I don't even try and convince you to sign a contract with me. If you like me, and I like you, then we work together. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

What else?

While real estate is my passion and my job, that's not all I've been up to. I have helped clients with interior design, I've built kitchens and furniture, received design awards from print media (Salt Lake Magazine, City Weekly) and even written for a few magazines (Dwell, Revolv). I also helped start up and actively worked on a mid century modern preservation committee

Oh, and sometimes I blog.

I’m thrilled to welcome creede fitch to the d*s guest blog this morning. i’ve been a fan of Creede’s site, Grassrootsmodern, for a few years now and i’m excited to have his voice on the site this week.

Creede coins himself a frugal design junkie. His site Grassrootsmodern is a long time favorite of mine filled with modern styled home goods at reasonable prices—in other words, many Wants!

The homes I've helped people buy or sell are as diverse as my clients. Everything from simple affordable homes with remodeling potential to luxury million dollar architect designed homes. The one thing they all have in common? My clients and I have a common love of modern design. Here are few I've helped out with.
