Map Jam 2014

Today is valentines day, a day to celebrate your love. Tomorrow on the other hand is Map Jam 2014, a day that Austin celebrates it's love, music. Music has long been the heart of this city, and KUTX has put together a great website that features many of the venues where you can hear live music in the city. Map Jam is the second annual attempt to highlight some of these venues and some killer bands.

This year the heart beat of the city is pounding loudest in East Austin, where 8 bands will play free concerts from noon until midnight at 5 different venues. They have a  predictably good lineup that ranges from Afro-funk to Soul to hip-hop. The party ends at my favorite neighborhood bar Scoot Inn.
