8400 Emerald Hill

The Northwest Hills area is one of my favorite suburban neighborhoods in Austin. It used to be a great place to get a sub $500k mid century house. Unfortunately prices have gone up since then. Luckily there are still relatively reasonably priced gems like this. Sure it's got some quirkyness (that kitchen!) but I see lots of potential here.

4504 Crestway : Roland Roessner

And the hits just keep coming. This amazing one owner mid century modern home designed by Roland Roessner was built in 1965. The inside looks like a time capsule, with loads of beautiful specialized touches from interesting interior screens and custom shelving to an amazing retro kitchen. This is the sort of house that is so well done I can't tell if some of the details are old or new. Timelessness is the best compliment a modern home can get.

1716 Valeria

Despite heading into the slow season of real estate, there have been some remarkably good new listings lately, like this new construction built by F|I|A| Homes. It's a good example of outdoor spaces and indoor spaces working together. Speaking of insides, I love the finish out on this one as well. Blonde wood floors, nice baseboard detail. I love a well thought out home.

2408 McCall

It's crazy how many architecturally designed mid century modern homes there are on the market right now. This one was originally designed by Page Southerland Page but since then it's been updated under the direction of Don Crowell and Fern Santini of ABODE. The style is definitely a bit of a departure from mid century modern, but not necessarily in a bad way. Love it? Hate it? Discuss.
