5905 Ventus

SOL has been been going off lately in a way that we may not see again for a long time. It sort of feels like everyone has decided to sell all at the same time. If you've ever considered living in SOL this is your chance. This listing like the others recently featured benefits from a small square footage and a simple modern pallet to help keep the overall price down.

While this house is not exactly my style, it gets two thumbs up for creativity. The front fence and gate give the house great curb appeal and the same unique approaches follow through to the house. They've opened up the interior spaces and left some exposed wood. To balance things out they've gone super modern on the kitchen and other surfaces. Nice push and pull.

2000 Meadowbrook

This Tarrytown treasure was built in 2011 and is now available for resale for the first time. There is a lot of house here, and a lot to love about it. My favorite aspect was carrying the limestone block from the outside into the house. Being the cabinet snob that I am, my only criticism would be that for a 2 million dollar home I don't want to see a refrigerator. They at least get two thumbs up though for the (mostly) grain matched walnut.

While I love simple and minimal I also appreciate it when someone is willing to take a few chances. The interior on this Hyde Park duplex is a perfect example of that. They take some timeless materials and wood like marble and combine them with more playful tile work and wallpaper. The result? Amazing.
