435 Brady : A.D. Stenger

Yesterday was a gorgeous house that was "rumored" to be a Stenger home. The consensus of the A.D. Stenger Facebook group is that it's probably not. Today is almost the opposite. This home has A.D. Stenger listed as the builder, and while it doesn't look like a Stenger based on location and year, it is much more likely to be. Unfortunately it looks like it has seen a remodel or two, and if it is a Stenger, it doesn't retain any of the classic MCM touches.

833 E 38th : A.D. Stenger?

OK, let's just get this out there. This home is being billed as a "rumored A.D. Stenger", so it may not really be designed by him. In 1964 he was building homes in Rollingwood, so this would be an outlier. Never the less, I can say this, this home is pretty amazing. I've always been a fan of homes with an atrium in the middle, and this just reinforces that love.

1714 E 40th : 50's architect designed MCM

I've got two AD Stenger homes to share this week, but not unit I mention this one that a client of mine had under contract briefly last week. If you got my newsletter last Friday, you all ready know all about this house. It's a total sleeper from the street (which is how it evaded my radar for so long) but a gem inside. It is a one owner home designed in 1950 by a local architect for his family. While it has gone through a few additions (at the hand of the same architect) over the years, the inside is surprisingly original. It will need the typical kitchen and bathroom updates, but at this price, and this location, you really can't beat it.
