1900 Airole Way : AD Stenger

This one is a blank pallet with good pedigree. Designed and built by AD Stenger in 1960 it's everything you could want in an architect designed mid century modern house. It's got terrazzo, and an awesome funky fireplace and best of all no one has done a lousy remodel to it yet. Make sure you check out my little feature on it here to see interior photos I snapped a few days ago.

1711 Valeria

Here's another nice new construction project in Zilker designed by Steve Zargoski. I'm a big fan of the all white kitchen and bathrooms which is going to look just as fresh in 15 years as it does now. There are nice finishes through out and a pretty epic roof top deck as well. My only complaint is the hobbit sized room they squeezed into the top floor. Kid playroom maybe?

2010 Wright : KRDB

We featured this KRDB house two years ago. One of the things I love about it is the ageless look. It's hard to tell if it was built in 2011 (it was) or sometime in the 70's. The other thing I love is the compound setup with a courtyard dividing the guest house from the main house.

2405 Ridgeview : AD Stenger

If you read my newsletter, you know I've been teasing about some off market Stenger homes for a bit. I had the pleasure of walking through this A.D. Stenger designed and built home a few weeks ago and meeting the owner. It's in incredibly original shape and has been lovingly preserved. All it needs now is another owner to love it the way it has been for the last 58 years.

1906 Airole

The one is a true stunner. Originally designed and built by A. D. Stenger in 1950 it received a comprehensive and sensitive update in 2012 by Chioco Design. I love all the clerestory windows, they do so much to make a space bright and open feeling. The addition of all the roof top decking is amazing too, especially with those views. All that goodness though may take a back seat to those amazing bathrooms. Hats off to Andrea Calo for the beautiful photos.

2005 Peach Tree

This gem was for sale earlier this summer and now it's back with a $100k price drop. It has a rare to Texas basement that has a nice raw brutalist feel (lots of concrete). Speaking of concrete, those stained floors are the one thing that I don't love, but that's an easy fix.
