While the one picture doesn't reveal a lot on this A. D. Stenger home, I can assure you it's a gem. I had a chance to walk through it a few weeks ago as the current owners of 30 years were moving out, and it has a lot to love about it. The real star of the show is an amazing metal fireplace in the living room that is mounted on a stone wall that divides the living room from the kitchen. Ohh, that and the flawless terrazzo. Don't get me wrong, this one will need a full rehab, but it will be worth it.

404 Brady : A. D. Stenger

I'm excited to go check this one out. It's been on my list of A. D. Stenger homes but the current owner has done a lot of updating since it was last on the market. I'm happy to say too that it looks like they have done a pretty tasteful job. Click on the "more info" and check out the bold floral wallpaper in the bathrooms. Not my thing, but totally amazing.

I'm always drawn to lots that have interesting topography. When approached right, it can really elevate the quality of the architecture and make for a much more interesting end product, especially when you are talking modern or mid century modern. That is one of the reasons Texas hill county makes such a great base for mid century modern. This 1963 house is a great example. I'm headed to check it out in a bit, check my Instagram for highlights.

The list would be long if I named everything I loved about this house, but what if I were to choose just one thing it? Hands down it would be the smooth exterior stucco and how it seamlessly wraps into the house to create the fireplace surround (see below). Well played.
