Remember this one? I posted about it back in 2014. It needed a TON of work back then, so I'm glad to see that someone took the time and effort to fix it up. Unfortunately it's lost a lot of the character it had before but at least it didn't get torn down. It's still a slightly quirky mid century home on a gorgeous lot.

I'm back, and I've got a sleeper with an interesting back storyto share. This is one of those houses that I suspect is better in real life than it is in the photos. It was designed in 1979 by Chartier Newton, an Austin based architect that practiced briefly with Arthur Fehr in the 70's after Charles Granger's untimely death. Like Charles Granger he also studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art and worked for Eero Saarinen for a time. This house has a fantastic private outdoor courtyard which the house wraps around. It's seen some updates (for good or bad) and now it just needs a little interior design love.

Proof that some white paint and wide blonde wood flooring makes everything better. Lot's of good natural light here too. It looks like the garage was converted to an office sometime in the past, and while I see what they are trying to do with the courtyard it does unfortunately throw off the curb appeal a bit.

You may have seen this house before, it was on the modern homes tour last year, and it's been on the market for almost 300 days now. Somehow though I've never included it on my daily pick. It's location on a busy section of Balcones Dr is a bit unfortunate, but I've been in this house and there is a lot to love about it.
