7705 Merrybrook

I'm back, and I've got a sleeper with an interesting back storyto share. This is one of those houses that I suspect is better in real life than it is in the photos. It was designed in 1979 by Chartier Newton, an Austin based architect that practiced briefly with Arthur Fehr in the 70's after Charles Granger's untimely death. Like Charles Granger he also studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art and worked for Eero Saarinen for a time. This house has a fantastic private outdoor courtyard which the house wraps around. It's seen some updates (for good or bad) and now it just needs a little interior design love.

And the hits just keep coming. This stunning mid century modern home was designed by Charles Granger (of Fehr & Granger) and built in 1963. It saw a total renovation in 2006 which means all the hard stuff has been done. Now you just need to buy some extra furniture to fill up the 7,000 + square feet of space. Oh, and invite me over for the pool party.

2614 Delwood : Arthur Fehr

I shared this house a little over two years ago when it was last for sale. It was eventually taken off the market and I've been keeping my eye on it ever since. Sadly, it's now back on the market and being listed only as a lot, presumably anticipating being torn down. It's a shame too, it was designed in 1951 by Arthur Fehr of Fehr and Granger, and based on the old photos it doesn't look like its in too bad of shape. I'd love to see someone buy this and bring it back to it's original glory. Spread the word!

2807 Wade : Fehr & Granger

It's crazy to see 1.5 million dollar homes where my first instinct is "it's got really good bones". This listing has more than just good bones (and location) going for it, it also has some great pedigree. It was designed by Fehr & Granger, one of my favorite MCM architects in Austin.

Thanks to Curbed Austin for all the kind words about my site, and for bringing this one to my attention.
