I love absolutely everything about this Rodenburg Design home. It’s clearly a custom build and I love the raw cedar on the exterior. In fact speaking of the exterior the courtyard design and lovely rear yard pool are 10/10 as well. Inside is equally wonderful, high ceilings, loads of floor to ceiling windows and thoughtful finishes.

Here is an interesting one in Travis Heights from Rivendale Homes. The canted front entryway doesn’t quite translate right in photos but is a nice adaptation to an irregular site. Inside you’ll find a modern interior that leans slightly traditional in finishes but features a strong indoor outdoor connection.

This 2013 modern build looks like KRDB to my eye, though I can’t confirm it. It’s a good example of what does and does not age well. The architecture is still good but some of those finishes and fixtures just haven’t aged well at all. A good reminder that less is more. That being said, there’s a ton of value for the money here.

I posted about this gorgeous mid century modern Zilker home a few years ago and mistakenly attributed it to A. D. Stenger. I was delighted to receive a phone call from the original owner and architect’s daughter setting the record straight. According to her, her father Kenneth Nuhn was the designer and builder. Mr Nuhn was an accomplished architect in his own right who spent much of his career working for the State Health Department. The house has seen a major addition remodel since but still keeps many of the defining architectural features.
