1908 Airole : A.D. Stenger

Long time readers know there is a lot of history with this particular A.D. Stenger designed and built home. Back in 2015 this house was at risk of being demolished and I delivered over 200 signatures against the demolition to the city council. Luckily the demolition was rejected and the the house still stands. I toured it a few weeks ago and it’s in good shape still, but definitely needs some TLC and likely a tasteful remodel / addition to bring it up to 2019 standards. Who’s ready for a passion project?

2312 Rundell : AD Stenger

Something tells me this one won’t last long. Not only is it an A. D. Stenger designed and built house that seems to be quite well maintained, it’s also sitting on a very generously sized lot. Those two things together make the price seem almost like a bargain. Let’s just hope the new owner brings this one back to it’s former glory.

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the exteriors of these houses. That being said, I think they did a really good job on the interior finish out, and maybe more importantly on the price point for this location.

I see some many flip and spec built houses that it’s always so refreshing to see something like this with thoughtful and unique details. The fireplace mantle may be the show stopper here, but I think the back painted backsplash in the kitchen next to the maple cabinetry are my favorite.
