Austin has its fair share of 1970’s organic architecture, the best known architect is probably John Watson. While I wasn’t able to pin down the architect for this one, it definitely falls in the same category. From what I can tell it’s been in the same family for the last 40+ years, what a quirky time capsule from the truly weird days of old Austin.

Ok, bear with me on this one, I know it’s a little quirky but I just can’t help myself. This modernist Spanish Revival is not afraid to do its own thing. I absolutely love the exterior, and while some of the interior decor isn’t my cup of tea it has so much potential to be amazing.

A great example of the perks of location. This same house in town would be double, but thanks to the semi distant Lakeway location this is a hell of a deal. Not the best street presence, but the emphasis is on the views which is bang on.

Oh Lakeway, why must you always tempt us with your relatively inexpensive mid century inspired ranch homes on large lots. This one trends a bit contemporary for me inside (I like to use that like it’s a bad word) but there is definitely plenty to like here.
