Designed by Alterstudio, built by Pilgrim and landscaping by Mark Word. It really doesn’t get much better than that. While the house is a bit lavish for my personal taste, I have to admit that the execution is flawless. I love the unique stair design, the materials (especially the brick treatment) and yeah, that view doesn’t suck either. Just one question; can I or can I not swim in that pool?

This one is an absolute unicorn. A modernist 60’s home built on Mount Bonnell on a half an acre, and it’s mostly unmolested. It’s hard to visualize the mid century modern vibes inside with all the traditional decoration, but I bet this thing was a stunner when it was built. I bet it could be again too.

I love looking at modern homes that are more than 10 years old. It’s a great way to see how well the design is holding up. This one just crossed the 12 year mark and I’d say it’s holding up well. The mosaic tile in the bathroom is very 2007 modern but I have to admit I secretly like it still.

The last time this house was for sale was in 2014 when it was priced at $275k (and it was brown). It’s crazy to think about how much housing prices in Austin have changed in the last 5 years. Somehow this Emily Little designed house still feels like a pretty good value, even at 2019 prices.
