900 Karen #B

Usually when you see a unit B listing like this you can expect a smaller house with a small price and a few less of the high end finish outs. This Thomas Tornbjerg designed unit keeps the small price but ditches the small size. The finish out doesn't skimp either, I know those built in refrigerator freezers don't come cheap.

711 Chestnut

Let's start this week off with a little something different. I've always loved the juxtaposition of old and new, that's why this 1935 brick store front with updated live / work space inside is totally tugging at my heart strings. Ohh the possibilities.

2209 Willow #A

It's no secret that I love East Austin, and while I really like my neighborhood if I had my choice I would be in Holly. There is just something about crossing that Cesar Chavez corridor that makes if feel more secluded, and the huge influx of restaurants and bars in the area is pretty handy too. Being close to the ladybird lake trail is just icing on the cake. All of that is to say, this house is in a good spot. :)

701 Monroe

Another great little spec unit from architect Don Harris. This one is actually the smaller unit B of the condo regime, but I think I actually prefer it to the main house. You'll see some similar interior details to the Fontana house I posted two days ago. This is also one of the first spec builds I've noticed that benefit from last years increase from 850 sf to 1,100 sf on accessory units. That extra 250 sf makes such a difference for these smaller houses. Bonus point for all that great outdoor space.
