It's been a good week for mid century modern homes in Austin. I've already got a few lined up to share next week. This one deserves a little love before the weekend though. Built in 1967 it was the original sales model for the neighborhood and it's easy to see why. Since then it's gotten an incredibly tasteful update on the interior. I'm giving a slow clap for this gem.

This house is the perfect example of how timeless good modern design can be. This particular house was built in 2001 and designed by architect Gordon Bohmfalk. It was long enough ago that some of the interior materials are showing age, but not in a bad way. It walks the line of coming off mid century modern and present day modern. At the end the day, let's just call it good design.

This may just be your basic two story 1960's ranch, but it's got just enough of something special to catch my eye. First off, that post and beam car port is amazing, second all that exposed stone and Saltillo tile inside is a huge win. It just needs a loving new owner, and a fresh makeover on the inside.
