I used to really want to live in one of these townhomes on 6th street. Nowadays it might be a bit too hectic (well not now now, it’s probably perfect mid corona shutdown) but I still love them anyway.

I think I’ve shared this one before. It’s a fun little east Austin compound consisting of 3 separate homes, a main, an ADU and a tiny home. Overall its a fun, well styled project, and I’m sure it was quite the little short term rental cash cow pre-COVID.

Not exactly modern, but I’ve always admired this house. Built in 1939 it has a unique architectural style for east Austin. It’s been carefully restored and updated and looks like a little oasis now. I love it when the good ones get saved and made even better.

I’ve lived on the east side ever since I moved to Austin, so there is something very endearing about a classic east side cottage. It’s always great to see them well renovated like this one. It looks like there is plenty of land left here too if you wanted to build a back house.

There doesn’t appear to be a lot of “architecting” going on with the exterior of this one, it’s pretty much a two story box (says the guy who lives in a two story white box). Luckily there are some more thoughtful details inside like the grain matched cabinetry and lots of tile. I’m a big fan of the location though, sweet little spot with lots of walkable options.
