I had the pleasure of walking through this house a few months ago when they were still finishing up the construction. I was very impressed then, and even more so now. This Chris Krager designed and built home if full of thoughtful design and nice details. I'm always super critical of custom cabinetry, and theres a lot of it in this house. Happy to say I didn't have a bad thing to say about it. Is it crazy to have an $800k house on the east side? Crazy maybe, but it's the new reality, especially for architect designed homes like this one.

This quirky little deep east Austin house is more than meets the eye. The head on view from the street looks like a small simple shed roofed house, but a closer look shows that the home spreads out and down as the hill falls away. The combination of the interesting house, amazing yard make this one a solid contender.

I've been watching this farmhouse inspired modern duplex go up for months now. It's great to see that it's finally done, and that the interior looks as good at the outside does. The location is great too with lots of new things happening on 12th and Chicon a few blocks away. Unit A and B available.

YES!!! I hope this is the beginning of a trend in East Austin. Instead of tearing down the original 850 sq. ft. home built in 1926, these builders invested in it, and tastefully added to it. To get the most bang for their buck they have also added a separate back house that is also for sale. It's a win win really. The neighborhood keeps it's historic homes, buyers get beautiful home, and developers prosper.

While this house might not be much to look at from the street, all 678 sq. ft. of the interior have received a thoughtful makeover. With housing prices in central Austin continuing to climb, small houses like this can help housing stay more affordable. On top of that, it's always great to see an original house saved instead of demo'd.
