I was thinking this morning about what I would do if I was on a tight (read under $250k) budget in Austin and buying a home. I think I would pretty much buy the cheapest thing I could on the East side, and remodel it like this.

Read MoreI like this listing for a few reasons. First, this is not the first "modern" home in the 1,700 sq/ft range to list in the $650k+ range. While this is a crazy price, it seems the market is supporting it, which bodes well for my new build next summer. Second, while the house isn't particularly interesting or compelling from the outside, I like that they took some chances on the inside. Definitely a love it or hate it interior.
