This is a pretty amazing remodel of a 1970's home. The remodel included a down to the studs approach and nearly doubled the size. While some of the interior finishes are a bit traditional for my taste, I am happy to see more and more light colored floors. All those dark wood floors were really starting to bum me out...

Lets be honest. The 80's and 90's were pretty dark ages for "modern" architecture. There was a lot of contemporary, or what I call "Beatle Juice modern" happening (watch the movie again, you'll get it). These cedar clad shed roofed homes were definitely a trend though, especially in more secluded settings. The cladding is equal parts brutal and softening and I've always loved the look of them.

Let's be honest, there wasn't a lot of good residential architecture happening in the 90's. This though, this is a masterpiece that gracefully spans the distance of time. The interior is modern yet eclectic and looks like it could be from the 60's or 2010 just as comfortably. Oh, and can we talk about the secluded lot and those views? Ugh, so much want. If anyone knows the architect for this one please let me know.

Well dang. Another day another beautiful architect designed home. There is a lot to love about this one but my favorite thing about it is the timeless look especially that straight up mid-century inspired front yard. Looks like it could be straight out of 1955. Design by Webber + Studio in 2012.
