There was a flood of good houses today, but this one stole my heart. Not a lot of information about the home’s past other than the fact that it was built in 1960. I’m sure if those terrazzo floors or wood paneling could talk though that they would have some stories to tell. Hope someone with a big heart (and wallet) picks this one up.

I love seeing brick facades on modern homes, especially on the more luxury builds. It’s not something you see often, but modern design and brick have a long history together. Besides just giving the house a bit of a nice sense of mass it also allows for some nice accent walls inside that help pull the whole thing together. Nice work by Hugh Jefferson Randolph.

There isn’t a lot of infill housing in Brentwood, so it’s nice to see this little cluster of modern and relatively affordable houses right in the middle of the neighborhood. I’ve always loved this area but t’s only in the last couple of years that it’s started to get the restaurants and bars it deserves.

I’m usually not a huge fan of connected duplexes, but I appreciate the symmetry of this one. More importantly though I really love the interior, and that’s something I thought I would never say about a house with a green kitchen. Icing on the cake is the sub $500k price tag and 3 bedrooms.

This 1940’s home was taken down to the studs and modernized in every sense of the word. I love that they kept the same simple roof line for the entire structure but carved into the volume of the facade to create a sheltered entrance and back porch. I also love the juxtaposition of the minimalist architecture and the maximalist interiors. A+
