Wild Thing
I made this costume for Arri last year for Halloween. To be honest it was more because I wanted to make it than it was because he wanted it. Typical parent right? Trying to correct our lost opportunities through our kids. He wore it briefly for one sugar filled night and it has hung in the closet ever since. To my surprise, he asked me if he could wear it this last weekend. I was happy to oblige, and took the opportunity to take a couple pictures that I never got around to taking last year. Thanks for the memories Arri!
Happy Birthday Arri!
Arrington turned 3 years old last week. I can’t believe how big he is getting! We had a nice low stress birthday party for him and his friends at the Fairmont Aquatic center. We had over 14 kids there in all, and it was great fun. I didn’t take as many pictures as I thought I did, but you can see the few I did take on Flickr.
His birthday cake was the only wrench in the spokes. He had told us a while ago that he wanted a Batman cake. When I called Baskin Robbins to order a ice cream cake Batman wasn’t an option. I opted for a the Lightning Mcqueen and ‘Matter cake. Apparently they just heard the “queen and” part and I showed up to a Queen Anne cake. Not exactly what a 3 year old wants. We ended up just throwing Lightning Mcqueen and ‘Matter on top and calling it good. When it came time to blow out the candles Arri burst into tears. We almost couldn’t get him to do it. I figured he was just feeling pressured having everyone watching him, but later he told his mom “I don’t like that cake, I want a Batman cake”. Luckily his mom was happy to oblige a few days later with round two. And now the video…
Sumertime…
Summer time and the livings easy….
A special thanks goes out to home depot for the orange race car swing and rope, and our across the street neighbor Brad for the soccer ball net. Man I love summer.
Race cars and best friends
A few weeks ago Arri and I had a chance to got to Miller Motorsports Park for the Ferarri Challenge. It was an amazing opportunity to see some absolutely incredible cars out on the track. What was even more amazing though was Arri’s ability to make friends. In a couple hours time he was able to make two best friends with perfect strangers. I guess I’m not the only one that thinks he is the coolest kid in the world.

Little Helper
Last Saturday I went over to my buddies house to help him pull the engine out of his deaded 2002. I kept telling him how easy it was and how I did mine in 30 minutes. I brought my little helper Arri along with me. He had a blast carrying tools around, getting dirty, and riding his bike. The actual engine pulling took a while longer than 30 min. I had forgotten that there were literally only two bolts holding my entire engine and transmission in place. Luckily with a little help the three of us were able to get it all done.
Fiesta Movement Entry Video
A while ago I heard about a little contest that Ford was putting on. They were giving away a 2011 Ford Fiesta to 100 lucky individuals. All you had to do to win was submit a video along with a resume. They were looking for people who were into social networks and had an audience to which they would be able to share their experience. I figured it would be fun to enter, so I threw together this short little video and submitted it. Little did I know that I would actually win a car. I pick it up April 28th. Anyone need a ride?
