House of St. Clair

I have a confession to make, I’ve been holding out on you. It’s partly because I’m lazy, and partly because I’ve wanted to keep it all to myself. It’s time to come clean though and introduce you to House of St. Clair. I’m not a particularly fashionable guy, but I’ve always thought that menswear is feeling fairly stagnant these days. That’s exactly what got me so excited about HOSC. They take deep inspiration from the past (like their Detroit influenced fall winter collection) but execute everything with a contemporary twist.

Esby

If you get my newsletter you have probably heard me mention Esby a few times in the past. They are a local clothing brand founded in 2014 by Stephanie Beard. Stephanie comes from a background of designing menswear for major brands and started Esby to focus on quality clothing for men and women with a menswear mentality. What they mean by that is that the close are made to be comfortable, durable and worn often.

SHED Barber Shop

Whether you are new to a city, or you've lived there your whole life, there is a deep satisfaction that comes with finding the right person to cut your hair. It's a hunt that can be at times daunting especially for guys like me who don't go around asking other dudes where they got their hair cut. Maybe that's why my hair has gotten so long over the last couple of years. Either that, or I'm just lazy.

Vintage Bazaar

Looking for something to do this weekend? This Saturday my favorite neighborhood coffee shop / store Friends & Neighbors is having a Vintage Bazaar featuring clothes by Atelier Thibault and others. Between the already excellently curated shop inside and all the vendors for the pop up you are sure to find something amazing.

Not into shopping? No prob, just grab the latest issue of Frankie or Monocle and hang out in the shade sipping your drink of choice. What's not to love?

Sunroom

One of the things that I love about Austin is what a tight knit community it is. Generally speaking people look out for each other, and genuinely want to see other succeed. This couldn't be truer when it comes to small business owners. In fact that is exactly how Sunroom came into existence. Lucy Jolis and her fiancé had moved back to Austin after a stint in NYC. Lucy was running a successful Etsy shop full of vintage wear, but it had been her dream for years to have a brick and mortar store. That's when she got the message from a friend and client that runs Headdress. There was a small space opening up next door, and she thought it would be perfect for Lucy.

Northern Grade

Conveniently timed over Fathers day weekend comes the grandaddy of all men's fashion pop ups, Northern Grade. Even if you haven't heard of any of the brands that will be there (and I seriously hope you have) you know it's going to be good based solely on the sponsor (Stag) and the food / drink lineup (Bulleit Bourbon neat anyone?). For two days only this international roving market of USA made goods and gear will be setting up shop at the Fair Market, 1100 East 5th Street. If there is a dad in your life, you pretty much can't go wrong picking up a little gift here. In case you don't believe me, I've conveniently linked to all the goodness below. Start clicking, and see you this weekend.
