I posted about this one a bit over a year ago. I called it out for having lot’s of character, though it was pretty rough around the edges. The good news is that since then it’s gotten a complete remodel updating all the essentials. A bit of the character has been lost, but is’t still a pretty great house, and I suspect it is much more live-able now.

The North Loop area is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Austin, and this little ADU would make a perfect home. I love the white exterior with the dark windows and natural wood soffits. Inside I would have liked to see a bit less grey and some light wood accents instead of dark, but that’s just being picky.

There is a lot to love (and a little to hate) with this one. I appreciate that they’ve deviated from the standard materials and tried something new, like the corrugated siding. That deviation did lead to a few unfortunate tile decisions (not pictured below), but at least they are trying. Unit B is also available for $462k.

Whenever the outside chores stack up I start to dream about living in a condo. This Michael Hsu one would do just fine. It's got plenty of outdoor space on the rooftop deck, and even small bonus yard on the main level. Inside is the perfect sized 2 bedroom with all the attention to materials and detail you would expect from Hsu's office.
