What an absolutely stunning mid century modern home. That huge wall of glass in the tiered living / dining room is fantastic. The home was built in 1961 and remodeled in 1993 and it's hard to tell which part was done in each phase. My guess is that those windows weren't original.

The Balcones area is one of my favorites in the city and this house is a prime example why. Great 50's architecture with a low slung roofline and plenty of stacked limestone. Those curved glass block walls are pretty great too. The interior could use some updating but I'm going to go ahead and call that a bonus.

You may have seen this house before, it was on the modern homes tour last year, and it's been on the market for almost 300 days now. Somehow though I've never included it on my daily pick. It's location on a busy section of Balcones Dr is a bit unfortunate, but I've been in this house and there is a lot to love about it.

While it's a tad tough to see past the current furniture (sorry owners!) this house is a winner. Originally built in 1958 it got a total redo in 2013 under the direction of Dick Clark (architect) and Matt Risinger (builder). Thats a dream team if I've ever heard of one. Hard to imagine anything mediocre coming out of that.
